Ever wondered why truck drivers and their benefactors have so many issues? It is mostly because of a breach in communication hence little or no understanding between them. It is said that one of the most difficult people to manage are truck drivers because of several reasons like; language barrier and illiteracy. Being the detail-oriented logistics company that we are, we decided to host a 2-day training session for our drivers to be able to achieve the following;
- Understanding the pain points of the drivers enables us to work better
- Teach them our policies, guidelines and rules and regulations
- Teach them roadworthiness
- Getting acquainted with the drivers
The training was conducted on the 11th and 12th of November 2019 at Dominion Resort Limited Hotel Kubwa. The training was slated for 8-5 pm daily.
The Resource persons deployed to administer the training are The Directorate of Road Traffic Services, The Nigeria Police and other facilitators.
As the training commenced we ensured that all bodies present were taken care of. We provided breakfast, lunch and dinner (for the drivers whose stations are outside Abuja), and we provided shirts and caps with our logo and slogan incorporated into them.
After training for each day we had interactive sessions where the drivers were given the opportunity to ask questions, contribute and discuss issues affecting their efficiency. We were able to tackle the most prevalent issues mentioned by the drivers. Employment letters were given after the training and reviews from both staff and drivers were gotten. We achieved our aim to learn how to serve our customers better.
